meet corinne
Hey there!
I’m Corinne Westing (they/them), the queer midwife behind Trillium Reproductive Health and Birth Roots Community Midwifery.
I launched both of these practices to create a safe haven for folks seeking affirming and supportive care that is both holistic — connected, comprehensive, and individualized — and evidence-based.
I’m a Certified Nurse Midwife and Advanced Practice Nurse with Full Practice Authority who has been practicing in the Chicago area since graduating from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing in 2012.
I became a midwife to put into practice my passion for reproductive rights and bodily autonomy. I have always loved to work in the full spectrum of reproductive health, including family planning, abortion care, pregnancy, birth, and well person care.
My passion is in making respectful healthcare for all people accessible and welcoming — particularly centering the experiences and needs of my fellow LGBTQIA+ community members, disabled folks, BIPOC folks, and immigrants. My care is guided by the principles of reproductive justice and health at every size, and is trauma-informed.
I make my home in Oak Park, where I co-parent a fabulous pre-teen and cultivate community and a healthy sourdough starter.
